Wi-Fi 7 on AT&T Fiber

AT&T's newer BGW620 All-Fi Hub is genuinely Wi-Fi 7 — if you're on a multi-gig plan you may get it. Otherwise, add your own Wi-Fi 7 router in IP passthrough behind the BGW320.

Using your own router

AT&T fibre requires their gateway for authentication. To use your own Wi-Fi 7 router, put the gateway in IP passthrough and let your router handle Wi-Fi.

Step by step

  1. Check which gateway you have (BGW320 vs BGW620) in the Smart Home Manager app.
  2. On a multi-gig plan, ask whether the Wi-Fi 7 BGW620 is available.
  3. To use your own router, enable IP passthrough and disable the gateway's Wi-Fi.
